Do you want to feel like your house is neat and well-organized?
These are the first things to remember:
- It takes time to build an organization. Stop worrying about immediate results and focus on progress.
- It is important to have a routine and be consistent.
- Spoiler alert: Something will disturb you when you think everything is done. Are all the toys cleaned up? Someone will take out the huge lego box with all its pieces. It’s a normal life, and it’s OK. Accept it and live in the moment.
Make Your Bed
Teach your children how to make their beds. Make sure you don’t overdo it with the bedding. This will instantly transform your bedroom and takes less than a minute.
It is best to take it out and put it away.
Get started today, and enforce this with your family members and yourself. Although it is a simple principle, maintaining consistency cannot be easy. It will take you less time putting away one item than putting them all away at the end.
Every day, a little bit of everything.
This is my mantra every single day. Do not try to do it all in one day. Do something every day, and you will soon forget the desire to clean your entire house in one go. You’ll see that a simple cleaning routine is all you need to keep your home clean and you can also find domestic cleaning services.
Daily mail transactions
You can create a system that works best for you and your family, but stacks and piles of mail and papers won’t make your home look organized. You can throw away any unwanted mail and flyers at the door. Open and pay bills and decide what system will work best for your kid’s papers. We recycle most worksheets but keep the original artwork and papers.
Clean and wipe down your counters every day.
It seems so easy. It takes effort. It would be best if you started with your kitchen counters. Make sure you clean them after each meal and every dinner. Once you have mastered that task, you can add bathroom counter cleaning to your daily routine. You can put away the toothpaste tube and place the toiletries where they belong. If necessary, give the countertops and sinks a quick wipe.
Do the dishes.
The last thing you (or I) want to do at the end of the workday is unloading the dishwasher. The last thing I (and you) want to do at the end of the day is load and unload the dishwasher. This tedious task is quite simple and takes only a few minutes. It is so easy to put off this task. Do not forget to load the dishwasher right after dinner. Wipe the kitchen table and wipe the counters. Give the sink a good scrub. You will be so happy you did it when you wake up the next day!
