7 Tips For Cleaning Your Freezer

It is more than just removing food from the freezer and allowing it defrost. It is actually a complex process that requires many steps. Here are 7 ways to clean your freezer so it lasts a long time.

    1. Unplug your freezer

Turn your freezer off first when you clean it. This will reduce the chance of electroshock and other injuries when your freezer defrosts. Turning off your freezer will cause it defrost. Make sure it is placed in an area that will not damage flooring or other appliances. To soak up any water, you can place old newspapers or towels underneath.

    2. Take out all food

To prepare for the big clean-up, take all food out of the freezer. To keep food cool, place it in the fridge or another freezer. Use plastic storage containers or large containers with lids to store frozen food. You can avoid food from freezing by storing it in sealed containers. To make it easier to clean the containers, line them with plastic bags or towels.

    3. Take stock of all you own

There is a good chance that food in your freezer has been there for quite some time. It’s a great way to make a list of all the food in your freezer. Write down the names and expiry dates for everything you want to keep, and label the containers. You can also inspect the food and smell it to see if it has gone bad.

These are indicators of spoilt food:

      • Abnormal discoloration
      • Foul smells
      • Frost or ice can be applied to the food in the packaging or container
      • Labels out of date
    4. Accelerate the defrosting process

After these steps have been completed, your freezer can begin to defrost. If you leave the lid off, this could take several hours. If you want to speed it up, here are some tips:

      • Place a large pot of hot water in the freezer. Close the lid. Hot water may need to be replaced several times.
      • Low heat is best for hairdryers. Avoid letting water touch the dryer as it can cause an electric shock.
    5. Cleaning

Drain your freezer once it has defrosted. To clean the freezer, you can use mild cleaners like dish soap or baking soda with vinegar. Here are some tips to clean it.

      • Add a little bit of your cleaner to a bowl.
      • Use a sponge to soak the interior in the solution.
      • Take out any baskets or shelves and wash them in the sink
      • To get rid of any cleaners, rinse your freezer
      • Let it air dry

You can get rid of unwanted smells by placing a baking soda box inside. Close it for several hours. As a preventative measure you can keep a container of baking soda in the freezer along with your food, provided that it is replaced every few months.

    6. Dust the coils and clean the drip pan

Find the drip pan underneath the freezer. Grab any water from the bottom of the freezer and then remove it. Wash the pan in warm soapy water. Let dry. To clean a drip pan that is not fixed, you can use a damp cloth. Dusting the coils is essential to keep your freezer operating efficiently. This can be done easily with a vacuum or a brush. Just make sure your freezer is not plugged in!

    7. Clean your freezer’s exterior

The last step is to wash the exterior with soap and water. Be sure to pay attention to the handles. Use commercial stainless steel spray for stainless steel exteriors

      • You can prevent food from getting lost by organizing your food before you place it back in.
      • Foods that will last a long time in the freezer should be placed near the bottom. Foods that need to be eaten quickly should be placed near the top.
      • Attach your inventory to your freezer. Keep track of what you eat and how often you remove it.

The oven is at the heart and soul of this kitchen. The oven is where your favorite foods are brought to life right in front of your eyes. Sometimes, it’s where you have to wait patiently for your cakes and cookies to bake. Your oven does a lot of things for you and your family. However, it needs to be taken care of from time to ensure it continues to work at its best. It is vital to maintain the cleanliness of your oven and ensure your family’s well-being. It may not be something you enjoy doing, but it is necessary to do it regularly. Learn how to clean your oven in a variety of ways and make it look sparkling clean every time.

    Do-it-yourself oven cleaning

To begin cleaning your oven you will need an old toothbrush, scourer and oven cleaner. You also need rubber gloves. Avoid harmful or dangerous chemicals by using caustic-free cleaners to clean your kitchen. Make sure that your oven has cooled down before you start. You will need to cover all the gas burner jets with rubber gloves. Next, you’ll want to clean out any food, crumbs or leftovers from the oven. Next, take out all of the shelves from your oven and wash them with warm water. If you have the time, leave them to soak overnight. After the shelves have soaked, you can spray the oven with your oven cleaner and sponge and clean out the corners. Allow the solution to sit for a while to loosen stubborn stains and grease. Before drying, use your scourer to clean the oven racks. Make sure you reach the corners of your oven to remove any stains or spots that are often missed by most people. If necessary, you can scrub difficult-to-reach places with an old toothbrush. Be careful not to get electrically wet items! This time can be used to clean your baking trays. Clean the oven’s glass door. For difficult-to-remove food or grease, you can also use a scourer. Make sure to clean up any residues of cleaning products.

    Use the Self-Cleaning Function

For convenience and ease, you can clean your oven by wiping it with your fingers. This uses high heat to burn any food leftovers and grease. While your oven might be labeled self-cleaning, it is best to remove as much grease and food from the oven before you start the self-cleaning process. After cleaning, you will need to clean up any ashes. This is a convenient option that many people love. However, they are concerned about the potential for fumes and damage from high heat. You shouldn’t leave your home while the self-cleaning oven heats up. You should also keep an eye on the oven and ensure that pets and small children are not in direct contact with it while it heats up.

    Use Natural Cleaners

Homemade or alternative cleaners can be used in your oven, kitchen, and at home. Avoid chemical cleaners from the store. They can cause lung damage and other health problems. Use natural cleaners such as baking soda and vinegar.

    Keep it clean

Cleaning your oven will be much easier if you clean up after each use. Also, don’t let messes sit around for too long. Baking soda can be used overnight to remove stubborn stains. To catch any food that falls, wipe down the oven’s glass screen. Consider using cooking bags to roast meats so that you don’t have as much fat and grease in your oven. It’s easy to forget to clean your oven. However, it serves as an opportunity to remind you to go in and check on it if you haven’t done so in awhile. No matter what cleaner you choose, make sure to open your windows while cleaning the oven so that it is well ventilated. You should ensure that there are no pets if you use the self cleaning function. You can get your oven professionally cleaned if you aren’t sure which method to use.

  • Top 5 Apps For Finding House Cleaners

Top 5 Apps For Finding House Cleaners

With just a few clicks on your smartphone, you can easily find the perfect house cleaner. You also have full control over the services and appointments you make.

How do I search for cleaners in my area and get results

Although you may search for cleaners in my area, some referral services will interpret your search as “aEURoeanyone within 25 to 50 miles”, which is not what you want. You should make sure that you choose a service that is focused on your needs. Many websites and organizations claim they can help you locate a cleaner or independent contractor near you if you require cleaning services for your rental or home. It can be overwhelming to choose from so many options. You’ve likely been discouraged by the high prices and long waiting times when you’ve tried referral agencies like Angie’s List, Home Advisor or Thumbtack. If you search for cleaners in your area, you might be referred to people living as far away as 25 or 50 miles. Sites like this make money by charging cleaners to refer to them. Their priority is to fulfill the contractor’s expectations. Send me many referrals to fill my calendar for this month. Not yours. Even if you do find a local contractor or cleaner through these services, it’s still possible to receive high bids of $300 for a clean 3 bedroom apartment. It’s discouraging.

    An Uber-like app for cleaners

All Better, a Chicago-based start-up, is changing this model by offering a new type of matching service specifically for landlords. The All Better app allows you to list the job that you need, the time it must be completed, and the price you are willing to pay. The app then screens cleaners in your area who meet these qualifications and agrees to work for you. You simply need to choose one to start the project. Once the job is completed, the pro will send a photo to you and you can pay through the app. It’s easy, it saves time, and works even when you are unable to visit your property to supervise the repairs. For comparison purposes, if Thumbtack, Home Advisor, and Angies List are the limos for finding a contractor then All Better is the Uber near you, ready-to go, vetted and available at reasonable prices.

    Locating the right local contractor

The first step to finding the right contractor, is to give them an idea of the job. Do you need to clean up or do you have a larger project in mind? Is it deep cleaning or light cleaning How many bedrooms? Please be as precise as possible. You can categorize the service you require, such as a handyman, contractor, cleaning, landscaping, or moving. Next, list the address at which you will need the service. Take photos of the service you need and decide how much you are willing to pay. This information can be entered into the AllBetter app. Then, wait for your local cleaners’ replies and to offer you a bid. It assumes that you are looking for aEURoecleaners in my area, and it will recommend the nearest ones at the time you need them. Local is important because the person who provides the service is motivated to do great work and receive excellent reviews in their area. They have every reason for performing well.

    What price should I offer?

You probably know what a fair price is for your job if you are a landlord. Reasonable prices will get you the best response. All Better’s budget setting feature protects you against the high prices some cleaners may want to charge. Let’s take an example: A landlord was on vacation and received a request from his tenant to replace a light fixture. Thumbtack provided a quote for the installation of the light fixture four days later, and it cost more than $200. That solution didn’t appeal to the landlord so he used the All Better app while he was waiting at the airport. The landlord offered $100 to install the fixture and within minutes, he found a local handyman willing to help. The handyman sent the landlord a photo of his completed job and a text message from his tenant confirming that everything was in good order. The landlord paid for the job using his mobile phone. It was so simple. The app will suggest a price range for you to help you decide what price to charge. However, you are always in control of the final price.

Make sure your cleaners in the area are licensed

You want to make sure that the cleaning crew is insured and licensed before they start work on your rental or home. When interviewing potential service providers, always ask for this information. You can use the AllBetter app to verify that the vetting was done. All Better also insures the work.

    3. Containers with lids are a better option. Containers with lids make it easier to put away decorations. This not only helps your decorations to stay dry when they are stored, but it also makes it easy and doesn’t require a lot of effort.
    4. Donate or sell unwanted items before the cleanup day. Many of us have received gifts that we don’t know what to do. You can either sell them online, keep them for next year, or donate them to your local charity.
    5. Sort by size. You need to separate ornaments into three categories: small ornaments, medium-sized ornaments like big snowflakes, and larger items such as lights. It will make it easier to set up each holiday if they are separated during storage.
    6. Pro-tip: Ornaments can be delicate and need extra care. Make or buy an ornament box with honeycomb separators. This will ensure that each item has its place. To avoid damaging fragile items, wrap them in bubble wrap or acid-free tissue paper. Please keep them in their original boxes to prevent mix-ups.
    7. Avoid creating a mess with Christmas lights. Wrap the lights around empty tubes made from wrapping paper to prevent them from getting tangled. The cord should be looped around the roll starting on the opposite side of the plug. Next, insert the plug into the tube’s opening. You can also use paper towels if you have already thrown out your gift-wrap tubs.
    8. The tree should be put away. It’s an important part of your living space during holidays, but it can also take up a lot of space when you clean it and put it away after the holidays. Use a microfiber cloth to clean the branches of an artificial tree gently. Before storing the branches, let them dry completely. You can decorate with real trees by doing an internet search to locate a place that collects them for compost. It is a practical and eco-friendly option.
    9. Pro-tip: If you have enough storage space and an artificial tree, you can cover it with a large storage bag. You can easily find upright storage bags for disposable items online. Bags you can reuse Every year.
    10. As needed, make sure to have extra bags/boxes/bins. You may run out of containers at some point, either because they broke last year or because Santa brought new ones this year. You can reuse the boxes your presents came in and grocery bags, and other storage containers that will help protect your decorations.
    11. Pro-tip: To protect fragile decorations, you can use things around your house. Your wreaths can be hung on clothes hangers and covered with plastic bags. Then, hang them in your storage space. To protect your fancy candles against scratches, you can first put them in an old pair of pants. A small empty container of eggs can be used to store ornaments or other small knick-knacks.
    12. You can organize your gifts in a closet or another room. If you are like most people, you won’t be able to put away all your Christmas presents immediately. It would be best if you stored them until you can sort them. Do a quick sweep after all decorations, gifts, and boxes have been stored away.
    13. Make sure you do a quick cleaning before New Year’s Eve. Wipe down the kitchen counters and sweep/mop floors, if necessary. You’ll keep your place looking amazing even if the company drops by during the first week of January.

How to keep your New Year’s Cleaning Resolutions alive

We have a long tradition of making resolutions at the beginning of each new year. Although we have great intentions, we sometimes don’t stick to our plans. There’s no bad time to start cleaning out your house, but it’s especially good to do so at the beginning of each new year.

Imagine yourself in your best light. Instead of tossing and turning toys on the floor, you can go to bed with an empty sink. You have all the throw pillows in place, your coffee table is empty, and you have a clean floor for your slippers. The fresh scent of a clean home is wonderful.

A clean home is not only about safety but also about your family’s health. Cleanliness can prevent infections and viruses from spreading. It also gives you the ability to concentrate on what is most important to you.

You’re not cleaning because you have an obligation. You’re not cleaning out of obligation. Cleaning is a necessity.

Make that resolution. New year, new house. This time, make it a priority because it will keep you and your family safe. These are some tips to help you keep your resolution for cleaning in the new year.

Get rid of all the junk.

You don’t have to start stuffing your bedrooms with new items you have acquired over the holidays. Instead, look at what you have. It doesn’t mean you have to get rid of everything, but take a look at all the things in your home. What have you not used in six months? What collects dust? Do your children have toys or clothes that they don’t use anymore? You have to get rid of all the extra stuff accumulated in your home.

Pro-tip Goodwill doesn’t end with December. Many shelters also accept gently used electronics. Second-hand and thrift shops still accept clothing, toys and other necessities. Then, determine if you need or use all of your items and pay it forward.

Take care of the small things.

Once you’ve cleared out all the clutter, you can start to make a new resolution for 2019. You’re more likely than any other goal to succeed if you take small steps each day. You can make small changes that will have a huge impact. Dishes could become a daily goal if you measure cleanliness by the number of empty sinks in your home. Cleaning your home’s fabrics and emptying the trash cans could be a better place to start.

Pro-tip: Only choose one goal at a given time and build on your progress. It’s harder to stick with your plan if you have too many goals.

Take a look at what you might have missed.

While we know that dishes should be washed at least once a week and vacuumed every other week, there are still tasks in the home we neglect to do, either intentionally or not. We forget to dust the end tables and leave the closet shelves bare; we don’t wash the curtains but do the bedding. Look around your home and take a look at the areas you are least likely to use. Dust the doorways and drawers. Clean under furniture.

Pro-tip Wash all household cleaning tools with soapy water, clean the brushes and hoses of vacuums and wash your filters and hoses.

    Make a list.

To ensure that you can tackle each task as quickly as possible, you could start by making a weekly list. If you’re looking for more detail, you can make a list each day of your week (or five out of seven days if it is a weekend). You can make your list as detailed or as general as you like, but it should work for you. It doesn’t matter how you do it; something is satisfying about checking off a box once you have completed a task you had been putting off.

Pro-tip It helps to list all the tasks that need to be done each month at the beginning of your year’s cleaning resolution. You can then break down each task into daily and weekly tasks. In no time, you’ll be an expert!

    Make it a daily habit.

This is the tough part. It is important to keep to your resolutions. You must dedicate 15-20 minutes each day to cleaning the areas you have promised. It doesn’t matter what time it is, so long as you do it when it suits you. This is how you add each task to your daily routine. Eventually, you’ll have the current task as part of your daily routine and be ready for the next.

Pro-tip: Studies show it takes a roughly 22 Step Healthy Touch system to ensure that no dirt, dust or cobweb is left behind. Our trained professionals use the HEPA vacuum system to capture up to 99 per cent of pollen, allergens and bacteria. After every house is clean, you’ll feel better.
